MANSFIELD: Donald R. Seymour, 82, of Wittmer Road, Mansfield, died Monday, April 9, 2007, in MedCentral Mansfield Hospital following an extended illness.
Donald was born October 3, 1924 in Mansfield, and remained a lifelong area resident.
During WWII, Donald was stationed in Honolulu, HI, with the US Civil Service.
In 1982, he retired from the mill room at Westinghouse following 37 years of service.
An avid hunter and fisherman, he was a member of Robert L. Castor Post #5101 VFW.
He is survived by his wife Norma Jean Mitchell Seymour, whom he married January 14, 1951; sons Joseph C. Seymour of Pittsboro, NC, and Russell J. Seymour of Dexter; a daughter Linda Diane Seymour of Sumner, WA; five granddaughters and two grandsons; 11 great grandchildren; his twin brother Osler Deloss Seymour of Mansfield; two half sisters Carol Apple of Dallas, TX, and Jadee Evans in Pennsylvania; and a half brother Gayle Seymour of Akron.
He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Harriett Hawkins Seymour, as well as by a daughter Tamie Lynn Lewis in 1982 and a sister Gloria.
Services are being held at the convenience of the family, by the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home.
