Donald R. Scheidler, 90, of Galion, died Saturday, September 27, 2008 at Galion Community Hospital, after a brief illness.

Born March 30, 1918 in Nappance, Ind., he was the son of the late Rollie Scheidler and Mary Lewis Scheidler.

He has attended Miracle Meeting Church in Galion and served in the Ohio National Guard.
He retired after 23 years of service from the former Stratbury Manufacturing in Galion.

Surviving is one sister, Madge Davis of Galion and he is also survived by his dog and faithful companion, “Billie” and his caretakers for over 30 years, Janet and Philip Caudill.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Edgar, Lyman and Muriel Scheidler and three sisters, Cleo Belle Scheidler, Evelyn Flemming and Esther Williams.

Friends may call from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 1, with Rev. Matt Wheeler officiating. Entombment will be in Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum.
