Donald Hathaway, age 92, of Fredericktown, died Wednesday May 12, 2010 at the Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon. Donald was born August 24, 1917 in Knox County to Lloyd and Neva (Murphy) Hathaway and was a graduate of Fredericktown High School. Following graduation, Donald continued the family tradition of farming, and maintained a family farm in northern Knox County his entire lifetime.
He was a member of the Batemantown United Methodist Church and the Knox County Farm Bureau, Farm Council.
Surviving are his daughter Joyce (David) Kroninger of Westerville; his son Joe (Lisa) Hathaway of Fredericktown; grandchildren Krista Kroninger, Kayla Kroninger, Jessie Hathaway, Jared Hathaway and Jackie Hathaway; his brother Leland Hathaway of Fredericktown; nieces Ronda Hathaway, Connie (Al) Arens, Lela Hathaway; several cousins, grand nieces and grand nephews. Besides his parents Donald was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years Doris Hathaway on August 15, 2003; and infant daughter Nancy Lou Hathaway, his sister-in-law Lorilla Hathaway, and nephew Darel Hathaway.
Friends may call Tuesday from 4pm to 7pm at the Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown where funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 AM. Burial will follow at North Fork Cemetery near Waterford.
