Donald G. Ulery, age 85 formerly of Marengo and Lancaster passed away Sunday, December 2, 2102 at Grant Hospital in Columbus.
He was born in Delaware County on October 28, 1927 to the late Gilbert and Mae (Searles) Ulery.
Don and his late wife Doris were married in February 10, 1951, and proudly renewed their wedding vows in October, 2011, just days before Doris passed away.
Don worked hard to support his family at a variety of jobs. In the mid-60’s he completed engineering courses which enabled him to work for the next thirty years as a draftsman for companies such as Cream Cone Machine Company, HPM in Mt. Gilead, and Flexible Bus.
Don enjoyed the farm-life with Doris as they raised their two daughters. He actively supported his girls in 4-H, as well as many years volunteering as a Deputy at Morrow County Sheriff Department. They also enjoyed camping with family and friends.
Don is survived by: half-sister Judy Williamson of Palmetto, FL, his daughters Darlene (Tom) Shaw of Lancaster, Denise (Tony) Mundl of Radnor, and grandchildren Kurt Mundl of Prospect, Erin (Wendall) Shaw, and Mike (Tonda) Shaw of Columbus.
Graveside services will be held 12:00 p.m. Noon on Thursday, December 6th at Fancher Cemetery where Chaplain Bruce Benzing will officiate.
