Donald C. Small, age 77 of Delaware, father and grandfather, died at his home Saturday, September 15, 2001.

He was born on May 25, 1924 in New York City to the late Charles and Mary Maloy Small. US Airforce veteran who piloted a B-29 during WW II and the Korean Conflict. Graduate of Cornell University in 1950. Donald left the State of New York in 1952, he lived in Greenville, MI from 1971 – 1978 and moved to Delaware in 1978. He worked as a produce buyer for A & P and the Kroger Company.

Don was active in the American Heart Association, served on several Boy Scout Committees and with the Indian Princess’s in Greenville, MI.

He was a member of St. Mary Church, Delaware and had been active in the St. Charles Catholic Church while in Greenville. He enjoyed history, reading, flying, and airplanes.

Survived by sons: Robert Donald (Janet) Small of Danielsville, PA, William C. Small of Greenville, MI, Daughter: Mary (David) Cielieski of Marrietta, GA, 7 Grandchildren: Landon, Carley, David, Ben, Courtney, Jeff, Jennifer, Twin brother: Robert “Bob” Small of Delaware, Nieces & Nephew: Mary Jane Wightman, USAF Major Gregory Small, Susan Small-Plante, Terry Bechtold, Daughter-in-law: Mary E. Small of Greenville, MI.

Friends may call Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 75 W. William St., Delaware, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Church, Delaware, OH.

Burial will follow Friday in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery near New York City.
