Donald B. “Pete” Bailey, age 80, of Apple Valley, died Monday June 20, 2005 at his residence. He was born April 28, 1925 in Old Washington, Ohio to Raymond and Grace (Bryant) Bailey. Pete graduated from Coshocton High School, attended Ohio State University and graduated from Franklin University in Columbus. He served with the United States Army during World War Two in Europe.

Pete owned and operated Bailey and Sons TV Sales and Repair in Coshocton for a number of years and then was a sales representative for several companies. He retired from the East Knox School System where he had been employed as a bus driver for 9 years.

Pete was baptized at the North East Church of Christ in Minerva and attended the Trinity Assembly of God Church in Mount Vernon. He was a member of the Coshocton Elks Lodge.

Surviving are his wife Juanita (Baker) Bailey whom he married November 4, 1948; his daughter Lora Marshall of Danville; three sons James Bailey of Gambier, Dave (Barbette) Bailey of Mount Vernon and Don B. (Shannon Sturgis) Bailey of Howard; eleven grandchildren; four great grandchildren and three sisters Dolly (William) Repp and Maryellen (Robert) Steeby both of Hastings, Michigan and Barbara Wheeler of Coshocton. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a son Gail B. Bailey, a sister Marjorie Boyce and a daughter-in-law Elizabeth Ann “Beth” Bailey.

Friends may call Thursday from 1 to 3 PM and 6 to 8 PM at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon where funeral services will be Friday at 11 AM. Burial with military honors by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
