Dolores J. Lyman, age 84, of Mount Gilead, died unexpectedly Tuesday evening, September 23, 2014, at her residence.

She was born on August 10, 1930, to the late Hazen and Cleo (Stose) Galloway in Marion, OH. In 1948 Dolores graduated from Edison High School.

On July 23, 1950, she married Dean E. Lyman and together they raised 2 sons: Gail and Steven.

Dolores worked on the assembly line for North Electric in Galion before leaving to raise her two sons. Later in life, she enjoyed volunteering for Hospice of Morrow County.

She loved playing cards with various friends from different card clubs. Dolores also loved going on vacations where she traveled with good friends: Don and Delores Lehner.

Dolores was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Mount Gilead.

She is survived by two grandchildren: Heather Beneke and Curtis Lyman; great-grandchildren: Jacob, Megan, and Courtney Beneke; a sister, Gwen E. Favor; two brother-in-laws Dick (Florence) Lyman and Dale (Pat) Lyman; a daughter-in-law, Arlene Lyman; and Jim Rupp, whom she thought of as a son.

Dolores is preceded in death by her husband, Dean; sons: Gail and Steven; parents: Hazen and Cleo; and a step-father, Burgess Cochran.

A graveside service honoring her life will be held on Friday, September 26, 2014, at 11:00 AM, at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Chesterville with Jim Rupp officiating.
