Dixie Lee Inglis
July 17, 1953 ‒ October 25, 2009
Dixie Lee Inglis of Cardington was a “beautiful person with attitude”.
She passed away Sunday afternoon October 25, 2009 in the Morrow County Hospital Emergency Room. She was 56.
She was born in Morrow County Hospital on July 17, 1953, the daughter of the late Samuel E. and Marie (Hodge) Eastep.
Dixie was a lifelong resident of Morrow County and was a 1971 graduate of Cardington-Lincoln High School.
On July 16, 1977 she married James D. S. Inglis.
A woman with a kind heart and generous spirit, Dixie spent her entire life caring for people. Whether it was her special needs clients at Morning View Care Center (Central Ohio Group Homes), the numerous foster children she took care of, her family and friends, or even her animals, Dixie was constantly giving.
In those rare instances she was not taking care of others, Dixie would spend time in her flower garden or working on one of her many quilts. She also collected frogs.
She will be missed by her husband James; her son Carey Keen and his fiancé Theresa Williams of Mansfield; brothers Samuel Benjamin (Ruth) Eastep of Cardington and Hollis (Pam) Eastep and Bruce (Sondra) Eastep both of Mount Gilead; her sister Sue (Charles) Seitz of Cardington; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters Barbara Seitz, Wynifred Joann Eastep, and Brenda Davis; and her brothers James and Terrance Lee Eastep.
A Celebration of Dixie’s Life will be held on Friday October 30, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the Saint Paul Lutheran Church, 336 West Main Street, Cardington with Rev. Edward Wahl officiating.
