Dixie Lee Fiedler, age 69 of Ashley, passed away Sunday evening in the intensive care unit at Grady Memorial Hospital. She was born February 27, 1938 in Wheeling, WV to Charles and Virginia (Rayser) Griffith. A resident of the Ashley community since 1976, she was a retired United Telephone operator and a member of Ashley United Methodist Church. She had diverse artistic abilities and enjoyed working with ceramics, sewing, oil painting, leatherwork, and also writing poetry. She is survived by 2 daughters Robin Fiedler (Paul Daniels) of Ashley and Karen Creasy of Delaware; 2 sons Steven (Mary) Fiedler of Dade City, FL and Dante (Deb) of Oil City, PA; 9 grandchildren; a brother James (Nickie) Griffith of FL; step-adopted daughter Richean (Ken) Green of Chardin, OH; and special cousin Nanette Lee of Marion. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Lois Jean Maroney, and a brother Melvin. Friends will be received at the Rodman Neeper Funeral Home, 1510 W. William St., Delaware on Wednesday, September 12 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM where funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow in Ashley Union Cemetery.
