Dixie Frum, 92, of Galion, died Monday, Aug. 29, 2011 at the Carlisle House in Bucyrus.
Born Apr. 6, 1919 in Bellefontaine, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Luella Pearl Mix Byers. She was preceded in death on Dec. 2, 1986 by her husband, Raymond J. Frum whom she married on Dec. 8, 1951.
She was a graduate of Crestline High School in 1937 and the Mansfield Business College.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Crestline and its womens association. She was a member of the Galion Golden Age Club, volunteered for many years at the former Crestline Hospital, knitted caps for the babies at Galion Community Hospital for years and enjoyed sewing and gardening.
During World War II Dixie worked at the former North Electric Company in Galion in the testing department, then for the former Perfection-Cobey Company in the accounting department and later for the former Galion Credit Bureau.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Millie Frum of Dover and one grandson, Rob Anna Frum of Bolivar, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Dick Byers and one sister, Ruth Haspeslaugh.
Friends may call from 11 am to 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2, 2011 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home where services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2, with Dr. Blake Wagner, Sr. officiating. Burial will be next to her husband at Fairview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Galion Golden Age Club, 301 S. Market St., Galion, OH 44833.
