Dewey Ollison Smith, age 62, of Centerburg, died peacefully on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Grant Medical Center. Retired from Eagle Concrete where he worked as a concrete finisher.
Born January 26, 1958 in Columbus to the late Joseph F. and Della (Kirk) Smith. Graduate of Centerburg High School.
Dewey enjoyed, hunting, fishing, gardening, outdoor games, playing pool, collecting coins and vacations in Kentucky.
Dewey was most proud of his children and enjoyed spending time with them, his grandkids and great-grandkids.
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by brothers, Roger and Sherman Smith; sisters, Tammy Moran and Ann Smith.
He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 45 years, Pamela Smith; children, Dewey (Ann Church) Senter and Charity (Tony Oliver) Smith all of Centerburg; brothers, Sam (Connie) Smith of Michigan, Arnold (Janice) Smith of Marietta and John (Carol) Smith of Kentucky; sisters, Lucretia (Stuart) Stoll of Virginia Beach, Connie Neibarger of Centerburg and Rose Lahrmer of Cardington; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 4 pm to 7 pm on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 637 N. State Route 61, (at SR 3), Sunbury. Private family service.
