Dennis L. Bradford

Marengo, Ohio

Dennis L. Bradford, age 74 of Marengo died early Friday afternoon, August 11, 2017 at his home after a courageous battle with numerous health ailments.

He was born on September 16, 1942 in Wharncliffe, West Virginia to the son of the late Arlin and Laura (Murphy) Bradford.

Dennis was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War.

On June 26, 1964, he married Charlotte Thompson in Baisden, West Virginia.  This past June marked 53 years together as husband and wife.

He was a truck driver for Teamsters Local #413 until his retirement.

Dennis was a member of the Centerburg Free Will Baptist Church.  He was also a past member of the Morrow County Sherriff’s Aux. and previously served on the Marengo Volunteer Fire Department.

He loved fishing, hunting, and his grandchildren.

Dennis will be missed by his wife Charlotte, their sons and wives Arlin and Ann of Howard and Jeff and Michelle of Cardington; seven grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters Thelma Bradford and Wanda May.

Friends may call on the family on Monday, August 14, 2017 from 4-7 PM at the Centerburg Free Will Baptist Church, 360 North Clayton St, Centerburg, OH 43011.  Funeral services will be held there on Tuesday at 10 AM with Pastor Mark Tuggle and Brad Duncan officiating.  Burial with full military honors will follow immediately at the Marengo Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Centerburg Free Will Baptist Church.

  • He was a wonderful person.I remember him, looking like Waylon Jenning. We called him that. Nadia Sammons and I. He was a good hearted man. My prayers are with you and family. I also seen him on news one night during are snow storm , he wanted all the idiot’s off the road so he could do his job. He left are lot of wonderful memories .
