MANSFIELD: Dennis F. Beal, 82, died Thursday, February 1, 2007, in Oak Grove Manor in Mansfield after an extended illness.

Dennis was born April 3, 1924, in Lexington and grew up in Butler. He was the son of Gustav and Doris (Phipps) Beal. He moved to Mansfield in 1951 when he married and has lived since.

He enjoyed woodworking, traveling and meeting and talking to new people. His greatest joy for the past seven years has been spending time with his two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Evan.

Dennis retired in 1984 after 40 years at Westinghouse. For many years after that he enjoyed selling Watkins products. He was an Elder at the former Lincoln Heights Gospel Chapel and had been attending Mt. Sinai Methodist Church in Butler.

Dennis is survived by his wife of 55 years Doris Pauline (Groff) Beal; his son and daughter-in-law Jerry and Anita Beal of Howard; two grandchildren Elizabeth and Evan Beal; a brother and sister-in-law

Eugene and Donna Beal of Butler; a sister Joan Russell of Shelby; three sisters-in-law Pauline Beal of Butler, Delee Beal of Mansfield, Kathryn Fike of West Chester and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and six siblings: James Beal, Sarah Godra of Phoenix, AZ, Betty Hershner of Butler, Charles Beal of Shelby, Gus Beal of Mansfield, and Max Beal of Butler; three brothers-in-law Paul Godra of Phoenix, AZ, Wayne Hershner of Butler; and John Russell of Shelby; a sister-in-law Dot Beal of Shelby; two nephews: Johnny Hershner of Butler and Tim Beal of Mansfield; and a niece Patsy Beal of Butler.

The family will receive friends Sunday, February 4, 2007 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 5, at the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home with Brother Ken Kinley officiating. Burial will follow in Bellville Cemetery.
