Dennis C. Mueller, Sr.

October 03, 1943 ‒ November 08, 2019

Mansfield, Ohio

Dennis C. Mueller, Sr., age 76, passed away Nov 8, 2019 at Select Specialty Hospital in Newark following an extended illness.

He was born Oct 3, 1943 in Mansfield to parents Otto Frederick & Theresa (Kinkle) Mueller. He attended Lexington High School and later worked as a brick layer, a welder with Westinghouse and for a time operated a printing press. He owned and operated his own farm for many years with help from his sons.

As a young man, while showing steers for 4H, a beautiful young lady named Jeanne Vanderbilt caught his eye and the pair married in 1961. They attended the People’s Baptist Church in Mansfield for many years and Dennis was a good Christian man who also served as a deacon for the church.

Dennis was a hardworking man who helped to build numerous homes and he enjoyed woodworking and was an avid horseman and cattleman. He served as a mounted deputy for Richland County. He was a Bengals and OSU sports fan and dearly loved his wife and children. Friends and family will miss “Slick’s” sense of humor and will remember him as the strongest man they will ever know.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Jeanne (Vanderbilt) Mueller; sons Dennis Jr. (Penny) Mueller of Mansfield, Brent Mueller of Lexington, and Greg (Shelley) Mueller of West Palm Beach, Florida; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and siblings Barbara Abraham, Fred & Phyllis Mueller, Ralph & Becky Mueller, and Betty & John Amrose.

In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by his daughter Tamara J. Mueller, and a daughter-in-law Robin Dianne Mueller.

His family will receive friends 1-3 pm Friday, Nov 15, 2019 in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where a funeral service honoring his life will begin at 3pm officiated by Pastor Jim Streib. Burial will follow in Lexington Cemetery.
