Delores V. Tuscan, 92, of Estero, Florida and former Galion resident passed away Sunday, January 15, 2017 at the North Collier Hospital, Naples, Florida.

She was born July 14, 1924 in Reynoldsburg, Ohio and was the daughter of Charles and Icie (Bounds) Gerhardt. On June 21, 1947 she married Joseph J. Tuscan and they enjoyed 64 years of marriage until his passing on January 7, 2012.

Delores attended South High School in Columbus, where she was a majorette for the marching band, and graduated in 1942. She worked for a number of years as a clerk for J.C. Penney’s in Galion. Delores remained a member of the former Naomi Chapter of the Order Eastern Star for over 50 years and had served as Worthy Matron. She was a past member of Jing-a-lings, Christ United Methodist Church in Galion, where she was active with the Rebekah Circle and the Red Hatters. Delores loved playing the piano, telling a good joke and playing bridge with her friends. After the passing of her husband, she moved to Florida with her daughter where she has been enjoying the sunshine for the past several years.

Delores is survived by daughter Jackie (Tom) Fullerton of Estero, Florida; son Mike (Jean) Tuscan of Solon; four grandchildren Robin Britton, Veronica McDaniel and Cynthia Britton and Jonathan (Sarah) Tuscan; seven great-grandchildren; four great great-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews and long-time friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter June Tuscan and a son John Charles Tuscan.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833, where there will be an Order of Eastern Star service at 6:30 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 20 with Rev. Jerry Penrod Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Salvation Army in care of the funeral home.

    Joe & Chuck worked together @ Power Equipment Company in Galion where Joe was the IBM numbers guru. Both of us were in the Navy & shared many Sea Stories through the years.
