Delbert Loren Ashbrook

Delbert Loren Ashbrook, 80, of Ashley died Sunday evening at his residence. He was born September 10, 1925 in Delaware County, Ohio to Delbert and Sicley (Gale) Ashbrook. He graduated from Elm Valley School and was a farmer. He was a WWII US Navy veteran and retired from DCSC in 1976. He was past commander of the Ashley American Legion Post #518. On August 26, 1954, he married Virginia Martin who survives. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. He also enjoyed fishing, watching sports, and gardening with his brother Francis. In addition to his wife, he is also survived by 2 sons, Jerry Ashbrook of LaRue and Delbert Sherry (Patricia) Ashbrook of Westfield; 2 daughters, Kathy Davenport and her boyfriend Bob Boring of Ashley and Sandra Ashbrook and her boyfriend Chris Hartsough of Delaware; grandchildren, Dawn and Katrina Davenport of Ashley, Wendy Ashbrook of Westfield, Dusty Ashbrook of Mt. Gilead, Clarissa Boring of Ashley, Norman Ashbrook and Samantha (Don) Amos of Marion, Steven Ashbrook of Columbus, and Michael (Celeste) Ashbrook of Upper Sandusky; greatgrandchildren, Kaitlyn Stoll, Brianna and Heaven Singleton, Jimmy Russell, and Jordan Myers, all of Ashley, Dillon Ashbrook of Westfield, Norman, Tiffany, and Adam Ashbrook, all of Marion, Levi, Ginnifer, Brice, and Audrey Ashbrook, all of Upper Sandusky; step greatgrandchildren, Nadia English of Upper Sandusky and Jewel and James Phillips of Marion. He was preceded in death by brothers Francis and Leroy, sisters and brothers-in-laws Bernita and Phil Garrett and Meryl and Ed Elkins, and daughter-in-law Mary Ashbrook. The family will receive friends on Wednesday July 26th from 5 – 8 pm at the Rodman Neeper Funeral Home, 307 E. High St., Ashley and where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am.
