Debra Marlene Schonauer, age 55, of Martinsburg Rd., Mt. Vernon, passed away at her home on Tuesday, August 9, 2005 with her family at her side.

She was born on January 3, 1950 in Bellevue, Ohio to the late Malcom and Mary (Heistand) Ford. Debra was a member of the Christ the King Community Church near Fredericktown, Concerned Women for America, and was active with numerous Christian organizations. Debbie loved to garden, herbs and flowers, and home decorate.

She is survived by her husband, of over 19 years, James Schonauer; two daughters Charity Schonauer of Mount Vernon and Shannon (Tony) Jones of Texas City, TX; two sons, Sean (Bev) McFerren of Houston, TX, Aubrey (Tiffany) Williams of Naples, FL; two step sons, Chris (Lisa) Schonauer of Mount Dora, FL, Jeff Schonauer of Wilmington, NC; two step daughters, Michele (Vladimir) Alavirevic of Madison, TN, Heather (Phillip) Drew of Wilmington, NC; thirteen grandchildren; a sister Jean (Butch) Miller of Freemont, OH; and an aunt Donna Adkins of Westerville, OH. Debra was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and a sister Shari Luft.

Friends may call on Friday, August 12, 2005 at the Christ the King Community Church from 1-3 PM and 6-8 PM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, at the church, beginning at 11 AM with Rev. Lucian Baker officiating. Burial will follow in North Fork Cemetery. These arrangements are under the care and direction of the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home.
