Deanna S. Chaney, age 45 of Delaware passed away unexpectedly Sunday, October 3, 2010.

She was born on November 7, 1964 in Columbus to W. Lee and E. Sue (Curtis) Price of Delaware and was a graduate of Delaware Hayes High School in 1983. A former stockperson with Buehler’s Food Market, she helped open the Delaware Walmart store, where she worked in numerous capacities.

A good bowler in her day, Deanna was a member of the Monday Night League and bowled on the Delaware Eagles team, where she was also a past member. An avid Ohio State fan, she especially followed the football and basketball teams. A long time collector of Winnie the Pooh items, she also enjoyed the Double Diamond slots in Las Vegas. Her daily phone calls will be missed.

Her advice was “to always be true to yourself”, which she was. Beautiful and fun loving, she was always helpful and a good listener. She will be remembered for her caring concern for others.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband of 14 years: David Chaney, son: Joshua Elchert of Columbus, daughter: Jessica Elchert of Delaware, brother: Tracy (Chris) Price of Delaware, sister: Stacie (Erin) Varley of Roland, Iowa, 6 nieces, 4 nephews, 2 great-nephews, and parents-in-law: Roger and Pauline Chaney of Coshocton.

Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 75 W. William St., Delaware, where a service celebrating her life will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. A reception will follow at the Delaware Eagles, 126 E. William St. in Delaware.

Memorial contributions can be directed to her family to help with final expenses.
