BELLVILLE: Dean Paxton, 67, of Bellville, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2017 in Riverside Methodist Hospital following an extended illness.

The son of Skiles and Ethel (Packer) Paxton, Dean was born May 22, 1950 in Mansfield and graduated from Clear Fork High School in 1968.

Dean was a kind-hearted people person that never missed an opportunity to strike up a conversation about sports, politics, or the town of Bellville.  He was an avid sports enthusiast, music collector and movie lover.  During his healthy years, Dean faithfully attended church and was an advocate for Alcoholics Anonymous.

He is survived by his wife Shelley Paxton of Bellville; sons Erik (Kristi) Paxton and Trent Paxton all of Columbus; stepdaughter Megan (Aaron) Beveridge of North Carolina; nine grandchildren; siblings Eloise and Lee Paxton both of Bellville.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Elaine Haag and stepson Aaron Valgas.

A memorial service celebrating Dean’s life will be held Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 11 am in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to, Snyder Funeral Homes, to assist the family with cremation expenses.
