FREDERICKTOWN: David R. Shoenfelt passed away Friday, December 26, 2014 in Morrow County Hospital. He was 81.

He was born December 22, 1933 to parents Guy & Ruth (Zeger) Shoenfelt in Northfield, Ohio. After David was graduated from Johnsville High School in 1951, he joined the navy and was honorably discharged in 1954.

On February 14, 1955, he married Vilena and together they spent nearly 60 wonderful years.

David worked at Johnsville Feed and Grain, where he worked for over 23 years until it closed in 1974.

In spare time, he took pleasure in music, especially polka and country music. But above all, David cherished square dancing with Vilena.

He is survived by his loving wife Vilena (Rhea) Shoenfelt, born in Newville, West Virginia, Braxton County; son Ronald Shoenfelt of Johnsville and daughter Debra Shoenfelt of Fredericktown; siblings Janet Griffith, Jim (Nancy) Shoenfelt, Richard (Peggy) Shoenfelt, Linda Black, Ruth Ann Wilson, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Joe Shoenfelt and sister Jean Miles.

Although no public service will be held in David’s memory, his family hopes that you will hold him in your heart as you remember him in your own special way.
