David R. “Dave” Allen

MANSFIELD: David R. “Dave” Allen, 60, of Mansfield, died, Saturday morning, November 25, 2006 in Galion Community Hospital following a brief illness.

He was born December 3, 1945 in Crestline to Ray Wilbur and Dorothy Lorene (Ricker) Allen and was graduated from Buckeye Central High School with the class of 1963. Dave also received his associates’ degrees in accounting and business management from the Mansfield Business College.

Dave proudly served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam, in both Guam and Morocco. He served from November of 1965 to October of 1969 and received the National Defense Service Medal.

On March 10, 1970 he devoted himself in marriage to Rosemary Zumbrunnen.

A lifelong area resident, Dave worked for 40 years at Crane Plumbing. Most recently he was employed with Cardington Yutaka Tech.

Dave is survived by those he held most precious, his loving wife Rosemary (Zumbrunnen) Allen, his two daughters and sons-in-law Tina Allen-Kolessar and Michael Kolessar of Ashburn, Virginia, and Kimberly Allen-Love and Doug Love of Ashland. He is also survived by his mother Dorothy Allen of Attica; a sister and brother-in-law Carol Chapman and Robert Chapman I, of Mansfield, two brothers and sisters-in-law Russell and Marj Allen of Attica, and John and Deb Allen of Mansfield; his mother-in-law and father-in-law Rosemary and Robert Beauregard of Foley, Alabama; two sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Linda and Johnnie Bishop of Fairhope, Alabama, and Annette and Lance Fitzpatrick of Bushnell, Florida; 7 nephews, 5 nieces, 11 great nephews, and 7 great nieces; and several treasured neighbors and forever friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Ray Wilbur Allen, and a sister Mary Allen Shaw.

Private family arrangements are under the direction of the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home.
