DAVID, Q. TOWERS, AGE 81, OF APPLESEED CT. HOWARD, OHIO, DIED AT HIS HOME JUNE 10, 2002, FOLLOWING A COURAGEOUS 2 YEAR BATTLE WITH CANCER. HE WAS BORN IN ALEXANDRIA BAY, NEW YORK, MARCH 25, 1921, THE SON OF GEORGE AND IRENE (BROWN) TOWERS AND HAD BEEN A NEW YORK RESIDENT MOST OF HIS LIFE. MR. TOWERS SERVED IN ENGLAND WITH THE U S ARMY AIR CORPS DURING WW II. HE HAD BEEN EMPLOYED AS AN INSURANCE ADJUSTER BY GENERAL ADJUSTMENT BUREAU. HE HAD ATTENDED THE CENTRAL CHRISTIAN CHURCH IN LIMA OHIO, HE WAS A MEMBER OF THE WATERTOWN LODGE #49 F&AM IN WATERTOWN, NEW YORK, AND WAS AN AVID GOLFER.

HE IS SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE HELEN (BOSCH) TOWERS, A DAUGHTER CHERYL (HAROLD MAGUIRE) TOWERS OF PITTSBURGH, PA 2 STEP-DAUGHTERS KAREN (RAYMOND) McCLURE OF MOUNT VERNON AND LINDA (LARRY) MARTZ OF GOMER, OHIO, 2 STEP-SONS RONALD (KONETA) GAST OF HUNTINGTON, W VA AND CHET (ANN) GAST OF SPENCERVILLE, OHIO, 19 GRANDCHILDREN AND 34 GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN, A SISTER MINNIE HARTMAN OF ALEXANDRIA BAY, NEW YORK AND A BROTHER GEORGE TOWERS OF CLAYTON, NEW YORK. HE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HIS 1ST WIFE RUTH EDDY TOWERS AND 2 BROTHERS.

A MEMORIAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT THE 1ST BAPTIST CHURCH IN MOUNT VERNON WEDNESDAY, JUNE 12, 2002 AT 11 AM. THE REVEREND DAVID BOLEY WILL OFFICIATE. THE FLOWERS-SNYDER FUNERAL HOME ASSISTED THE FAMILY WITH ARRANGEMENTS.
