David M. Hatten, age 62, of Edison, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2003, at his home, following an extended illness.

He was born December 19, 1940, in Marengo, Ohio the son of Paul M. & Imo M. (Smith) Hatten and had been a lifelong Morrow County Resident. David had worked for the HPM Corp. as an Erector for 37 years. He attended the Marantha Bible Church in Edison, was a member of the Local 1319 IAW, and enjoyed gardening, outdoors, bird & squirrel feeding & watching, and collecting scale series of cars & trains.

He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Emily “Marie” (White) Hatten, whom he married July 11, 1983, a son, Jim (Trina) Hatten, of Mt. Gilead, OH, a daughter Tammy Hornbeck of Virginia, 5 step-sons; Ray Sexton of Columbus, OH, Curt Sexton of PA, Garrett Sexton, Bill (Patti) Sexton of Johnstown, OH, Benny (Patty) Sexton of Pataskala, OH, 2 step-daughters; Donna Sexton of Mt. Gilead, OH, and Dorthy Sexton of Richwood, OH, grandchildren; Chad, Ashley, Lindsey, Angie, Shawn, many other grandchildren, & great-grandchildren, a brother Daniel Hatten of Mt. Vernon, OH, and 4 sisters; Rosie Young of Ashland, OH, Elma Black of Marengo, OH, Annie Scott of Mt. Gilead, OH & Mildred Adams of Cardington, OH.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother Harry Hatten and a sister Barb Richey.

Friends may call Monday, June 2, 2003 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Home, Mt. Gilead, where Pastor Chris Plough will hold funeral services Tuesday at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at the Bryn Zion Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Morrow County.
