David Lee Hoover, 59, of Delaware passed away early Thursday morning, March 15, 2018 at the Country Club Retirement and Rehabilitation Campus in Delaware.

He was born June 28, 1958 in Delaware, Ohio to Herbert and Audrey (Hughes) Hoover.

David worked at Worley Steel for over 20 years and was a lifelong Delaware resident. In his earlier years, he enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, woodworking, and restoring classic cars. David enjoyed collecting guns, swords, and pocket knives, or anything that had to do with hunting. He also enjoyed listening to country music and watching western movies.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Jennifer (Hugh) Gibbs of Ostrander and Sara Hoover of Delaware; son, David (Erin Knapp) Hoover Jr. of Marion; grandchildren Olivia, Ethan,Paige, Logan, and Devin Hoover, Xavier and Legend Jones; mother, Audrey Hoover of Delaware; brother, Ronald Hoover of Delaware; sisters, Linda Becker of Delaware and Leveta Linton of Radnor; aunts Della O’Quinn of Delaware, and Helen (Les) Meininger of Mansfield; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

David was preceded in death by his father and his wife Shirley.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 23, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 101 Valleyside Drive (formerly 1510 W. William Street), Delaware, where funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m.. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery.
