David E. “Eddie” Foos, 80, of Galion, died Monday, Dec. 10, 2007 at home after a lengthy illness.

Born Nov. 19, 1927 in Morrow County, he was the son of the late George I. Foos and Edith Marie Brugger Foos. He married Rosie L. Lancaster Foos on Dec. 30, 1970 and she survives.

He was a World War II U. S. Navy veteran and retired from General Motors in 1990 where he first worked in mechanical design and later as a tool and die maker. He was a member of First United Church of Christ, a charter member of the General Motors Retirees Local 549 where he was the financial secretary and was a life member of American Legion Scarbrough Post 243 and Galion Moose Lodge 303. Well known as an avid sports fan, he was proud to have never missed a Galion Tiger sporting event.

Surviving are his three sons and daughters-in-law, James and Pat Foos of Denver, Michael and Sandy Foos of Roseville, Mich. and Robert and Robin Boykin of Prescott, Ariz.; three daughters and one son-in-law, Peggy and Mark Sutton of Galion, Deborah Greene of Alexandria, Va. and Julia Browning of Crestline; six grandsons, Jason Langley, Luke Sutton, Zachariah Boykin, David and Tyler Greene and Cody Browning; two brothers and sisters-in-law, George and Marylou Foos and Richard and Carol Foos, all of Florida and his special dog, Casey.

At his request there will be no funeral services or visitation and his body was donated to the Ohio State University Department of Anatomy.
