David Chase Hunter, age 55, of Mount Vernon died Tuesday June 27, 2006 at the Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon. David was born February 26, 1951 in Mount Vernon, was a 1969 graduate of Mount Vernon High School and graduated from the Clark County Technical Institute in Springfield. He had worked for thirty years at Ellis Brothers Concrete in Mount Vernon and was a self-employed welder. David served with the Mount Vernon unit of the Ohio National Guard from 1971 to 1977.
David was an antique tractor enthusiast attending antique tractor shows and he enjoyed restoring antique farm machinery.
He was a member of the Brandon United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his son Michael Chase Hunter of Columbus, his stepdaughter Tamara (Earl) Rudder of Howard, three granddaughters Erykay Rudder, Gabrielle Rudder and Samantha Rudder, his mother Waneda (Singer) Hunter of Mount Vernon, his sister Jane (Robert) Kuhlman of Mount Vernon, his brother John Michael (Michele) Hunter of Delaware; four nephews Chase Baxter Hunter, Joel Kuhlman, Jeremy Kuhlman and Timothy Chase Kuhlman and a niece Katie Kuhlman. He was preceded in death by his father Chase Hunter Jr. and a brother Daniel Lee Hunter.
Friends may call Friday from 6 to 8 PM at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon where funeral services will be Saturday at 10 AM. Burial will follow at Brandon Cemetery.
