Mansfield, Ohio

ASHLAND: David Arthur Steward passed away Friday, September 20, 2019, from LifeCare Hospice in Wooster, surrounded by his family. He was 56.

He was born November 18, 1962 in Mansfield to parents Arthur Steward and Carol Kawahara. After he graduated from High School, he proudly served his country by joining the US Army where he earned his Associates Degree in Business Management.

Dave was known to be a hard worker. He would stick at a project until he saw it through to its completion so that he could make sure that it was done right. He loved working with his hands and would try to fix anything (even things that were not broken).

He loved to see his friends and would get so excited any time they were around. Above all else, Dave loved his family and did what he could for them. They will miss him greatly.

He is survived by his loving wife Lisa Steward; daughters Rachel Steward, Jamie Zilko and Cynthia Paytosh; sons Michael Steward and Timothy “Tim” Zilko; father Arthur Steward; mother Carol (Wade) Kawahara; brother Daniel (Debbie) Steward; nieces, nephew and extended family.

Dave was preceded in death by Uncle Paul and Aunt Florence Steward.

His family will receive friends 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, September 24, 2019, in the Marion Avenue Snyder Funeral Home, (350 Marion Avenue, Mansfield) A funeral service honoring Dave’s life will be held Wednesday, September 25, beginning at 11 a.m. Pastor Mike Wilson will officiate. Burial will take place in Windsor Park Cemetery where military honors will be performed by American Legion Post # 535 of Bellville.
