David A. Carper

David A. Carper, age 37 of Delaware died suddenly Friday evening, June 15, 2018 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on St. Rt. 42 East of Delaware.

He was born on January 3, 1981 in Springfield to Terry and Patricia (Nasby) Carper.  A graduate of Buckeye Valley High School in 1999, he was active in the band and Vo-Ag program. David worked as a self-employed carpenter and with Tim Dicken’s Construction. He was an avid gardener, landscaper, fisherman of Canadian waters, and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Mechanically inclined, he tinkered with farm oriented machinery, loved to cook. He also collected arrowheads and Case knives.

Soft in nature, just like his mother, he was even keeled and truly cared about others.  David was at his best outdoors, was most proud of his sons, and will be remembered for his kind ways and warm heart.

David is survived by his sons: Gabriel, Noah, and Oliver Carper, father Terry Carper and fiancé Jane Rohrschneider of Key West, Florida, brother Daniel Carper of Hilliard, paternal grandmother Ann Carper, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by both his mother Patricia and brother Douglas in 2015.

Friends may call 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Wednesday at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 101 Valleyside Dr. at W. William St., Delaware, Ohio 43015.  Graveside services will be held 11:00 am Thursday at Green Mound Cemetery in Kilbourne.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Delaware County 4-H program.

  • I am sad to hear of Dave’s passing. I have warm fond memories of him during 4 H and FFA. I will pray for his boys and family.

    I have no words to express my sadness that tradgety has happened in your life again. My condolences are not enough. I am sure that Patty, Doug, and he are together again.

  • I am truly heartbroken by this terrible tragedy. Although I had only known David for a short time, I had grown very fond of him and his kind heart and generous spirit. He was a great young man and my heart breaks for Terry and Daniel and all the rest of the Carper family. I pray you all can find the Peace of God knowing David is with Patty and his brother.
