Daniel James Heit

Daniel James Heit, 70, of Delaware passed away on Friday, June 22, 2018 in Columbus, Ohio.  Daniel was born on November 15, 1947 in Denver, CO.

Mr. Heit was a Viet Nam veteran who served in the US Navy and the volunteer Fire Department in Park County, CO where he was affectionately known as “Lieutenant Dan”.  He was also a founding member of the volunteer Search and Rescue team in Park County.

Daniel was proud of his Cherokee heritage and his status as a certified Master Plumber.  .

In addition to his parents Francis James Heit and Geneva Bigbey Heit, Daniel was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Heit and a step-daughter, Wendy Kay Eldredge.

Those remaining to cherish his memory are his wife of 30 years, Kay Foulk Roberts, and his sisters; Marilyn Heit of Howard, OH, Kristine Heit of Littleton, CO, and Peggy Heit also of Colorado, step-sons, Gregory Eldredge of Ostrander, OH,  Lee Losey, and step-daughter, Myrna Losey Triolo both of Colorado.

A private memorial service to celebrate the life of Daniel James Heit will be held at a later date.

    I am a friend from Class ’61 St Catherine’s . I am so sorry for your loss. Danny was a kind soul. Hopefully he knew how much, we here in Denver , loved him.
