A “Golden Heart stopped beating” when Dan L. Miller, formerly of LaRue, passed away at his home in Delaware surrounded by his loving family late Thursday, January 6th 2011. He was born on May 30, 1931, the son of the late Harry W. and Marguerite A. Miller. On August 10, 1950 in LaRue he married Joan Adams Miller, his High School Sweetheart, and they have enjoyed 60 years together. Dan graduated from LaRue High School in 1950 and attended Bowling Green University. Dan worked many years with his father at Harry Miller Service Station in LaRue. He also worked at Eaton Corporation for 42 years where he retired in 1994. Dan especially enjoyed golfing with his “Mar O Dell” buddies, of which he really hated losing a few pennies to. He also enjoyed woodworking and he made many beautiful pieces of furniture. He is survived by; his wife Joan Miller of Delaware, a son: Richard D. (Patricia) of Mustang, OK, a daughter: Christa L. (Terry) Ross of Delaware, 4 grandchildren: Jason Miller, Jeff (Quincie) Miller and Jana Miller all of OK, and Jennifer (Dom) Ross of Westerville, a sister: Joan (Eldon) Berry of West Mansfield, OH and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and infant son: David M. Miller. For many years he loved the company of his canine companion “Arnie” and later his good and faithful buddy “Harley” who brought much joy. He had a special bond with his “little Angels”, the nurses of the 4th floor Out Patient Clinic at Grady Memorial Hospital. As per Dan’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral services.
