Dale R. Gardner, age 87, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Monday, July 22, 2014, at the County Club Retirement Campus in Mount Vernon. He was born in Mount Vernon on July 28, 1926 to Hoy and Nellie (Evans) Gardner.

Dale was a friendly and happy go lucky person. He loved to travel after his retirement from Anheuser Busch. He enjoyed sports, being outdoors and tending to his garden. Dale loved to spend time with his family, taking his grandkids fishing was a great joy to him.

Dale is survived by a son, Terry (Ann) Gardner; grandchildren, Matthew J. Gardner and Brian M. Gardner; great-grandchild, Elliott Gardner; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents Dale is preceded in death by his wife, Maxine H. (Cocherham) Gardner, 2 brothers, C. Robert “Bob” Gardner and John Gardner, and a sister, Pearl Pipes.

The family will receive friends from 10 AM till 12 PM, on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 East High Street, Mount Vernon, Ohio; a graveside service will immediately follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens, officiated by Chaplain Dave DiPietro.
