Dale E. Taylor, 82 of Marengo, died Saturday evening May 29, 2010 at his residence.
Born on August 4, 1927 in Newark to the late Emery B. and Lilian L. (Blake) Taylor. A 1945 graduate of Newark High school and a member of Local 189 Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union. 37 year member of Jackson Lodge No. 85 F&AM, Valley of Columbus 32 degree, Sunbury Eagles Aerie #3614.
Dale was a work aholic and was always tinkering with various projects. Owned and operated Taylor Plumbing from 1958-1978 in Newark. Inspector for the State of Ohio Plumbing Unit from 1989-2001. Owner of Autumn Lakes Campgrounds from 1978-2003 and enjoyed raising Yorkshire Terriers. Through the years Dale has taught many young men the plumbing trade.
Survived by wife: Lois (Fizer) Taylor and they were married August 22, 1999; son: Lonnie (Patty) Taylor of Newark; daughter: Dianna (Jerry) DeFord of Tabor City, NC; 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; step-sons: Charles (Paula) Lewis of Athens, Ricky (Valerie) Lewis of Olive Green, David (Nancy) Lewis of the state of Washington; step-daughters: Mary (John) Johnston of Centerburg, Mardissa (Randy) Thorpe of Olive Green; numerous step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.
Dale was preceded in death by his first wife of 52 years: Doris (Lightle) Taylor on May 19, 1999; sister: Patty Newman.
No calling hours will be observed and graveside services will be held Saturday June 5, 2010 11 a.m. at the Bloomfield Cemetery.
