Dale E. Stump

Dale E. Stump, age 77 of Delaware and formerly of Galena passed away Sunday evening, December 31, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on May 27, 1940 in Lancaster to the late Wilson and Helen (Kistler) Stump.  Growing up in the Galena area which is where he met his beloved wife Linda K. (Warner), whom he married February 15, 1964.

Dale worked as a machine operator with the former Dennison/Abex Company for 25 years.  Not one to shy from a hard day’s work, he often worked two jobs, including the time spent with the Delaware County Fairgrounds.

He collected many things, especially items pertaining to trains and wheat pennies. He also favored Western movies, in particular John Wayne and Chuck Conners in The Rifleman. Dale was a wonderful provider, husband, father, and grandfather.  He will be remembered for his good heart and caring qualities.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years Linda, his four children: Tracey (Bret) Bringle of Marengo, Jason Stump of Delaware, Heidi (Heath) Nelson of Ashley, Kerry (Chris) Esterly of Delaware, 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, sisters: Eileen, Janice, Bonnie, brother Bill, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was also preceded in death by his son Mark, grandson Ryan Nelson, and brother Richard.

Friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.  Wednesday at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 101 Valleyside Dr. at W. William St., Delaware, Ohio 43015 where services will follow 11:00 a.m. Thursday with Celebrant Marvin Hintz officiating.
