Dale D. Carpenter, age 62 of Galena, died Sunday June 10, 2012 at his residence.

He was born on February 18, 1950 in Columbus to the late Franklin DeWitt and Jean Alice (Bard) Carpenter. He was a 1968 graduate of DeSales High School and held an Associates degree from Columbus Technical Institute. He was a Quality Assurance Manager and most recently the North American Regional Manager for Liebert Corporation. He was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church, Power Squadron and lifetime member of Boat US..

Dale loved the outdoors and anything to do with it. He enjoyed camping, boating, fishing and even indoor activities such as pool and bowling. Some of the memories his children have are fishing trips to Canada and Michigan, Monday nights at the bowling alley, with a high score of 298, and cookouts with bonfires.

He is survived by his daughter: Kelly (Paul Jr.) Nicholson of Columbus; sons: Ryan (Jolyn) of Newark, Chris of Apple Valley;4 grandchildren; half-brother: Jeff (Lyn) Dauphin of Mi; Companion: Bonnie Guckeyson of Westerville; special longtime friend: Debbie Carpenter of Apple Valley.

Friends may call Thursday from 4-7 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:45 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, SR 3 at 61, Sunbury. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday 10 a.m. at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 9633 E. State Route 37, Sunbury with Fr. David Sizemore celebrant. Inurnment will follow in the Trenton Cemetery.
