Dale Arthur McClain, 85, of Delaware died early Wednesday morning June 16, 2010 at Wintersong Village Nursing Home. He was born February 12, 1925 in Morrow Co., Ohio to Lee and Ruth (Robinson) McClain. He served his country during World War II and the Korean Conflict as a member of the United States Army. He was a drafter for the State of Ohio and Schultz Survey and later was a runner for Carriage Towne and Plaza Pontiac delivering cars around the state. He was a member of the AmVets Post # 102 and Eagles # 376 of Delaware, Delaware County Harness Horseman’s Association and the United States Trotting Association. He is survived by numerous friends including “his right arm”, Lee Ann Davenport of Cardington. He was preceded in death by a daughter Debbie McClain. A mention of special thanks goes to the Delaware Court and Wintersong Village Nursing Homes and Home Reach Hospice. The family will receive friends on Friday June 18th from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at the Rodman Neeper Funeral Home, Delaware and where funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm. The Delaware County Veterans Association will provide military honors at the funeral home at the conclusion of the services and a reception will also follow in the Rodman Neeper Community Room.
