Craig M. Van Houten

Craig M. Van Houten, age 35, of Z Street, Fredericktown, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 28, 2009 at the Knox Community Hospital.

He was born on February 17, 1974 in Mount Vernon to Terry and Diana (Smith) Van Houten. He was employed at Rolls-Royce and previously at T.R.W. here in Mount Vernon and was finishing his teaching degree at Western Governor’s University. He was a member of the Faith Baptist Church and loved to watch Nascar and road racing. Craig was a devoted husband and father and loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Audrey (Waterhouse) Van Houten; two children, Brady and Maya; his parents, Terry and Diana Van Houten of Howard; a sister Angie (Jason) Starr of Howard; grandparents, Robert and Eva Smith, Wendell Van Houten; a niece Shelby Starr; two nephews, Cody and Cole Starr and many friends. Craig was preceded in death by his grandmother Margaret Van Houten.

Family and Friends may call on Monday, June 1, 2009 from 5 – 8 PM at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home. A service will be held on Tuesday, beginning at 10 AM, with Rev. Merlyn Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made to the family for the children’s education and left at the funeral home.
