Constance S. “Connie” McCartney

Constance S. “Connie” McCartney, age 52, of New Albany passed away suddenly Monday, September 12, 2005 at Mt. Carmel Medical Center, she shared the gift of life through organ donation.

She was born on June 20, 1953 in Bucyrus to the late Robert G. McChesney and Geneva J. (Conley) McChesney of Lexington. Connie was a graduate of Lexington High School Class of 1971 and attended The Ohio State University. A closing officer with the Worthington Regional Office of Lawyers Title Agency, she had also worked as a manager with Title First in Columbus.

An active Girl Scout member in her youth, she was currently serving as the Reynoldsburg Service Unit Leader, as well as a troop leader. A choir and board member of the All Saints Episcopal Church in New Albany, she also served as a board member for TAASC and the Wheelchair Athletic Assoc. She was a member of the US Army Reserves 412th Civil Affairs Special Operations Family Readiness Group, enjoyed snow skiing, reading, sewing, and working with military families in need and those with disabilities.

In addition to her mother, she is also survived by her devoted husband of 23 years: Lance McCartney, Daughter: Carrie E.A. McCartney, Son: Corey McChesney, Brothers: Kenneth B. ( Naomi ) McChesney of Jacksonville, FL, and Donald R. (Bonnie) McChesney of Oakland Hills, CA.

Memorial services will be held Friday 10:00 a.m. at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, SR 3 and 61, Sunbury with Rev. Rick McCraken-Bennett and Rev. Terry Brown officiating. Inurnment will be held in the Lexington Cemetery, Saturday at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to All Saints Episcopal Church, 5125 Johnstown Rd., New Albany, OH 43054 building fund in memory of Connie.
