Connie L. Denman, age 71 of New Bloomington, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at Marion General Hospital.

Connie was born on August 31, 1948 to the late Donald Gerald “Jerry” and Norma Jean (Quail) Thiel in Upper Sandusky, Ohio. In 1966, she graduated from Upper Sandusky High School. Connie and her husband, Michael Denman, were together for over 40 years until his passing.

Connie was a calm and loving soul. She loved to sit on her porch for hours watching the hummingbirds come and go at the feeders she had set up outside. She enjoyed reading and going out to eat. She was constantly playing Hit It Rich on Facebook and watching her soap operas. Connie loved animals, but had a soft spot for her dog, Cody, whom she adored, and also loved her family dearly. Connie was employed at Andrews Jewelry Store as a Certified Gemologist for several years.

Preceding Connie in death is her son Donald “Donnie” Powers; husband Michael Denman and parents Jerry and Norma Thiel.

Connie is survived by children: Chris (Chester) Blanton of LaRue, Tara (Joe) Blanton of New Bloomington; daughter-in-law Alicia Powers and her family; grandchildren Courtney and several other step grandchildren; brother, Doug (Brenda) Thiel and sisters, Theresa (Stephen) Kahler, and Donna (Greg) Leeth; siblings in-law John (Kathy) Denman and Karen (Jon) Uhl; beloved best friend and sister in-law Kim Steed, close friend Raymond Hernandez, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A private family graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2020 at Fairview Cemetery in LaRue. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date for other friends and family to gather and remember Connie.
