Clyde E. “Kice” Wright, age 77 of Sunbury was led by his Lord and Savior to a better place Friday morning, November 10, 2006 from St. Ann’s Hospital.

He was born on May 11, 1929 in Pomeroy to the late Clyde M. and Cora (Reiber) Wright. A graduate of Linden High School with the Class of 1948 and member of it’s first undefeated “City Champion” football team.

He became a masonry contractor at the age of 19, a trade which he continued for 58 years with Wright Construction Company Inc. For 10 years Clyde designed, built, and cared for the Ohio Vietnam Memorial. He was a member of Genoa Baptist Church, Columbus Emmaus Society, St. Clair Athletic Club, BIA, and Epiphany Ministries.

Proud of his work accomplishments, he was at his best with his family. One of strong faith, he will be remembered for his happy nature and caring qualities.

Survived by his cherished wife; Barbara L. (Shade), his “hand in the dark”, after he lost his sight 2½ years ago, and together they shared 39 wonderful years, Daughter: Kim Mann of Galena, Sons: Philip (Diane) Holdren of Johnstown, Scott (Grethe) Holdren of Ostrander, Daughters including Jill Wright of Florida, 7 Grandchildren: Kristy (Matt) Low, Brandon (Jessica) Mann, Andrew Holdren, Brittany (David) Yost, Brooke Mann, Jordan, and McKayla Holdren, Great-grandson: Jack Myron Low, Brother: John A. (Alice) Wright, and special friend: Floyd Berry.

Friends may call Sunday 2-6 p.m. at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, SR 3 at 61, Sunbury and one hour prior to the services celebrating the life of Clyde Wright, to be held Monday 7:00 p.m. at Genoa Baptist Church, SR 3 at Lewis Center Rd., Galena, with Pastor Wayne Booth officiating.
