Cloise Webb, age 87 of Sunbury, Hartford Township died Thursday, July 10, 2008 at Manor Care in Westerville.
He was born on August 13, 1920 near Croton to the late Earl and Susie (Potter) Webb. A US Army veteran of WW II and was a lifelong resident of Hartford Township.
Cloise enjoyed a passion for farming of grain, dairy, and livestock. Described as a mechanical genius, he could fix anything. He could make the best, better, engineering things to his liking. He also operated a neighborhood farm repair shop, caring for area farmers mechanical needs off season.
A member of New Bethel Christian Union Church, he served as a trustee, and in many other capacities. He also enjoyed playing cards, dominoes, country music, and playing his guitar. He was a caring provider, both loving and loyal to his family. His legacy will live on because of the traits passed on to his family, of whom he was most proud.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of almost 64 years: Marjorie (Grove), children: Robert “Bob” (Beverly) Webb of Flower Mound, TX, Carol Ann (Mike) Nash of Westerville, Daryl Webb of Lewis Center, daughter-in-law: Mima Webb of Johnstown, Grandchildren: Lori, Lesa, Tyler, Randy, Tiffany, Kelli, Great-grandchildren: Morgenne, Kaylee, Jacob, Cooper, brother Harold “Pete” Webb of Sunbury, and sister Virginia “Tina” Webb of Gahanna.
He was also preceded in death by son: Thomas “Tom” Webb in 2006, sister Marjorie Elliot, and dear old friends Boots, Snoopy, and Flossie.
Friends may call Sunday 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, SR’s 3 at 61, Sunbury, where services will be held Monday 11:00 a.m. with Rev’s John Dotson and Richard Barber officiating. Burial will follow in Trenton Cemetery with military honors provided by the Delaware County Veterans Association.
