Clifton “Ted” Castle, 77, of Broadway Street, Edison, Ohio died Saturday, April 26, 2003 at his home.

He was born in Johnson County, KY on Dec. 22, 1925, the son of the late Noah and Katie Castle. He moved here in 1953 from Urbana. He worked for the H.P.M. Corporation in Mt. Gilead for 40 years until retiring in 1990. He was a member of the Enterprise Baptist Church, the former Local 1319 I.A.M. and enjoyed gospel singing.

He is survived by his wife Vertie Music Castle, whom he married on May 13, 1947; five sons Eugene, Paul and Michael Castle all of Edison, Ohio, Chris Castle of Mt. Vernon, Ohio, and Steve Castle of Caledonia, Ohio; two daughters Wanda McClaskey of Marion, Ohio and Linda Jones of Louisa, KY; 20 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; two brothers Elmer Castle of Mt. Gilead, Ohio, and Jimmy Castle of Christiansburg, Ohio; and a sister Louella Conrad of Rosemont, Mich.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Noah, Joe, Harry, Clarence, and Clinton, and a sister Lizzie Caudill.

Friends may call at the Craven Funeral Home in Mt. Gilead on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Pastor Eddie Colegrove will conduct funeral services Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Enterprise Baptist Church.
