Cliff L. Snyder Sr. passed away Friday evening, October 4, 2016 in Ohio Health Mansfield Hospital surrounded by his family. He was 85.

He was born November 1, 1930 in Richland County to parents Ralph & Edith (Miller) Snyder. After High School Cliff went on to work as an usher at the movie theater downtown Mansfield, Kobacher’s, Mansfield Tire for 29 years until its closing, and retired from St. Peters High School after 13 years.

In spare time, Cliff enjoyed fishing and boating with his son Cliff Jr. at Clear Fork Reservoir. He spent many hours working in the yard and tending to his flower garden and took pleasure in dining out.

He is survived by his son Cliff L. Snyder Jr. and step daughter Dana (James) Constance; step grandsons John (Jacqueline) Constance, Tomas (Tonya) Constance, and Mark Constance; his sisters Laura Snyder, Mildred Green, Freda Arbogast, and Katheryn Foley.

In addition to his parents, Cliff was preceded in death by his wife Mary Sheller Snyder, his first wife Margaret Goettl Snyder, and his brothers Robert and Edward Snyder.

A funeral service will take place in Cliff’s memory on Friday, October 7, 2016 at 1 pm in the Marion Avenue Snyder Funeral Home with an hour prior of calling beginning at 12 pm. The Rev. Michael Herring will officiate with burial following in Mansfield Memorial Park.

Contributions in his memory to Mansfield First Evangelical Presbyterian Church may be made at the funeral home.
