Clayton R. “Butch” White, age 79 of Caledonia, passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2021.

Butch was born January 7, 1942 in Marion, the son of Joseph C. and Verna Mae (Hartley) White.

In Butch’s younger years he raised and trained race horses. He was an avid fan of the Ohio State University Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns. He enjoyed spending his time hanging out with his son at White’s Small Engine Shop and loved his dogs: Dutchess, Pug, Sambone and Daisy. Another favorite pastime of Butch’s was mowing yards.

He is survived by his children: Teresa (Tim Houseworth) White, Warren (Deanna) White, Patricia (Larry Higgins, Jr.) White, Kelly White, and James (Christine) White; grandchildren: Tim White, Ashlee White, Cory (Ashley) White, Cody White, Kyle White, Bret (Stephanie) White, Levi Hendel and Kaitlyn White; great grandchildren: Haylee, Hayden, Hunter, and Holdenn Britton; Caiden White, Aubrey, Kaison, and Everliegh Huffine, Caden, Calleigh, and Clayton White and Lavaea Hendel; great great grandchild: Kinsley Smith; siblings: Hershel White and Mary Cooper; and special friend Nancy Higgins.

Butch is preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife: Marguerite Ann White; great grandchild Leighonna Hendel; and brothers: Joseph, Verlon, Warren, James, and Daniel White and sister Virgie Edington.

Visitation will be Monday, September 20, 2021 at Snyder Funeral Homes, Gunder/Hall Chapel, 347 West Center St., Marion from 10AM to 12PM; funeral service will follow at 12PM with burial in Caledonia Cemetery.

Yesterday after making funeral arrangements I wanted to call you to tell you everything was done and taken care of then it hit me it was your funeral arrangements and I couldn’t call you.
