Clara Weber Wolf of Sun City Center, FL and Apple Valley, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at South Bay Hospital following a brief illness. Her age and birthdate will not be printed in this column. If you knew Clara, you will understand why.
Clara was born in Paw Paw, Michigan to the late George and Regina (Schleyer) Weber. She attended grade school in Michigan and Chicago, and high school in Danville, OH. She attended Ohio University before marrying Gomer Wolf of Brinkhaven, a WWII bomber pilot. They lived in Tucson, Arizona until the end of the war, returning to Ohio to raise their family in Mount Vernon.
Clara worked many years as a bookkeeper and secretary for Rudin’s Department Store, the Mount Vernon Developmental Center, and the Mount Vernon School System. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, CCL. and the Lady Elks. Clara especially enjoyed playing golf and bridge with her many friends.
Clara is survived by two sons, Craig (Betty) of Kingwood, TX and Quentin of San Antonio, TX; one daughter, Marcia Parker of Florida; 3 grandchildren, Jenna (David) Thorman of Bluemont, VA; Aaron (Lindsey) Wolf and Ashley Wolf of Houston, TX; 2 step-granddaughters, Brandie (Kenneth) Forsythe and Crissy Nelson, of Houston, TX; 2 great-grandchildren, Kyrie’ and Weston Thorman; a great-granddaughter Wolf due in May; 3 step-great-grandchildren, Hannah and Bailey Forsythe, and Carsten Nelson; her sister, Helen Brown of Mount Vernon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Clara was preceded in death by her husband Gomer, and her 3 brothers, Henry (Bud), George, and Richard (Dick) Weber.
An open Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Glenn A. Gallagher Centre of the Ohio Eastern Star Home, on Saturday, March 15, 2014, at 2:00 pm. Deacon Tim Birie of St. Vincent de Paul Church will officiate. The Service will be followed by a reception, open to all who wish to attend.
