Clara M. Ratigan, age 91, of Delaware passed away Friday, March 15, 2019 at Willow Brook at Delaware Run , surrounded by her family.
She was born on July 29, 1927 in Bellevue, Michigan to the late John and Grace (Seres) Yuhasz. Coming to Delaware in 2009, she was a retired sales liquidator for DuMouchelle’s Fine Arts Gallery in Detroit, Michigan. While in Michigan, she sang with the Sweet Adeline’s and was a member of the Farmington Garden Club. After moving to Delray Beach, Florida she volunteered at various soup kitchens, served as the grounds supervisor at her condominium, and worked as a guide for the Florida State Parks near her home..
Clara was also a member of St. Mary Church in Delaware and a collector of antiques. A wonderful cook, her stuffed cabbage will long be remembered, as well as her unbelievable fried chicken. Along with her determined nature and wonderful sense of humor, she was never one to be ignored. Clara was never shy from speaking her mind and enjoyed her Willow Brook Community. She was most proud of her children and their successes in life.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter: Keiren Stoller, brothers: Kevin and Brian Ratigan, grandchildren: Elizabeth, Devon, Jessica, Sean, and Megan, and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of forty years, Frances O. Ratigan and son, Terrance Ratigan.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center in Delaware.
