Christine Hampton Chapman

December 09, 1943 ‒ May 25, 2020

Marion, Ohio
Formerly of Pike County, Kentucky

Christine Hampton Chapman, age 76, of Marion, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 25, 2020, at Marion General Hospital following a bout with Covid-19.

On December 9, 1943, Christine was born in Hartley, Kentucky, one of seven children of the late Cecil and Rita May (Tackett) Hampton.

For nearly thirty years, Christine worked as a waitress at several different restaurants.  She had a dream of owning her own restaurant one day, always working on the perfect menu.

A woman of faith, Christine attended the Family of Love, Old Regular Baptist Church in Wyandot.  She “loved God” and was a “God worthy” woman.

Most important of all to Christine was her family.  She lived for her sons and grandchildren.

She will be missed by her two sons: Shannon (Angela) Chapman, and Jason Chapman; five grandchildren: Kylie Williams, Dawn and Scott Chapman, Kateri Jaynes, and Joe Risner; one brother: David (Nancy) Hampton; and oodles of nieces and nephews.

Including her parents, Christine was preceded in death by her husband, Richard E. “Dick” Chapman; four brothers: Gomer, James Abel, Landon, and Darrel; and one sister, Geraldine Cellars.

Her family will greet friends from 10 am – Noon on Saturday, May 30, 2020, at the Longfork Freewill Baptist Church, 4908 Longfork Rd, Virgie, Kentucky 41572.  Services honoring her life will follow there at Noon.  Burial will follow in their family cemetery in Virgie, Kentucky.

Memorial contributions may be made to her family to help with unexpected expenses.

Snyder Funeral Homes of Marion are honored to serve Christine’s family and your condolences may be expressed to them by visiting www.SnyderFuneralHomes.com.
