Christine Baker, 62 of Croton , died Sunday September 20, 2009 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on May 18, 1947 in Garrison, Kentucky to the late Noel Collins and Mildred (Payton) Collins of Garrison, KY. She has lived in the Croton area since 1987 coming from Westerville. She was a retired school bus driver with 21 years of service in Westerville and 8 years in the North Ridge District.
Christine was a loving person and most especially loved her family. She enjoyed going to football, basketball games, pageants to see her grandchildren participate and watching them swim. She loved to shop, garden, feed the finches and acquired the nickname of “Slot Machine Annie” for her love of gambling.
In addition to her mother she is survived by her husband of 20 years: Jack L. Baker and they were married June 25, 1989 in Johnstown; sons: Bobby Baker of Blacklick, Randy Baker of Kilbourne, Robert (Shanda) Baker of Grove City; daughters: Brenda (Philip) Warren of Sunbury, Kelly Everets of Reynoldsburg; 13 grandchildren: Payton, Parker, Daniel, Bob, Bridgette, Carrie, Jessie, Ashley, Alec, Cody, Conner, Kristen, Eric; brothers: Carl and David Collins; sisters: Faith Stump, Joan Clark, Hope Atwood, Gay Sabia, Joy Tice.
In addition to her father she was preceded by daughter: Pam Baker.
Friends may call Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, SR 3 at 61, Sunbury where services will be held Friday 1 p.m. with Chaplain Dick Burgie officiating. Interment will follow in the Hartford Cemetery, Croton.
