Cheral L. Steinhelfer, age 62, of Mount Gilead, died Friday, January 30, 2015, at Woodside Village Care Center following a battle with cancer.

On October 3, 1952, Cheral was born in Mount Gilead, Ohio, the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Jane (Dowalter) Sherbourne. She graduated from Mount Gilead High School.

For many years, Cheral worked as a cashier at Lawson’s in Mount Gilead, Duke Duchess Shoppes in Mount Gilead and Cardington, and Kinsell Foods in Cardington.

Having a heart of gold, Cheral always put the needs of others before her own.

She will be dearly missed by her three children: Thomas Steinhelfer, April Greene, and Michael Sherbourne; 7 grandchildren; two brothers: Dan (Barb) Sherbourne, and Leonard (Cathy) Sherbourne; two sisters: Sharon Martinez, and Sheila (Ken) Eichhorn; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her family shared a special celebration of life service with her on January 18, 2015.
