April 11, 1985 ‒ July 22, 2017
Chase Nichols, age 32, of Centerburg died unexpectedly, Saturday afternoon, July 22, 2017 at St. Ann’s Hospital in Westerville from injuries sustained in a work accident. If you knew, Chase, you know he wouldn’t have wanted it any other way…dying doing what he loved, working in the family business, in his uniform.
He was born on April 11, 1985 in Westerville, Ohio the son of James L. and Linda (Peck) Nichols.
Chase was a graduate of Centerburg High School and Knox County Career Center in the class of 2003.
He worked alongside his dad and brother as co-owners of Mid-Ohio Paving. As a toddler, he was the only one in his class to know what asphalt was…it was in his blood. He and Skyler have taken numerous asphalt certification courses and Chase knew permits and legal rights inside and out. He lived and breathed asphalt.
When not working, Chase enjoyed snowboarding, skateboarding, and kayaking.
He was also big fan of the Cleveland Cavaliers and LeBron James.
Chase always enjoyed spending time with his family. They will remember his beautiful smile, contagious laugh, generous heart, and his ability to turn strangers into friends. Once you became friends with Chase you became his family. And nobody outside his family was more important to Chase than all their employees and their families, especially the men he worked side by side with every day.
He will be missed by his mom Linda Nichols and her fiancé Phil Lawless; dad Jim Nichols and his wife Jeanette Marie; brother Skyler Nichols and his girlfriend Gabrielle Salamone; grandmother Dolly Peck; Uncle Dick and Aunt Kay Ann; cousins Mike, Adam, and Ellie; his girlfriend Amy Ludlow and her son Damon all of Centerburg
Chase was preceded in death by his Grandma Wilma; grandfather Luther Peck; and his Uncles Bill and John.
Friends may call on the family on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM and one hour prior to the services at 11 AM all taking place at the Centerburg Church of Christ, 3830 Columbus Road, Centerburg, Ohio 43011. Burial will follow at Eastview Cemetery in Centerburg.
