Charlotte L. Sammons, age 59 of Centerburg went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 2, 2005.

She was born on July 7, 1945 in Columbus to the late Howard and Edith (Thompson) VanDyke. A resident of Centerburg since 1975, she had worked as a cook for the Centerburg Nursing Center. A member of Colonial City Baptist Church, she enjoyed quilting, crocheting, gardening, and reading her bible.

Survived by Sons: David (Denise) and Timothy (Richelle) Sammons, Daughter: Renee (David) Young, Grandchildren: Ryan and Alexander Young, Brothers: Kenneth (Marilyn), Everette (Carol), Herbert, Jerry (Lois) VanDyke, Sisters: Genevieve Kelsey, Rita (Harold) Hamm, Linda VanDyke, Sister-in-laws: Rose and Winona VanDyke, Aunts: Dora Niggemeyer, Francis Erwin, Helen VanDyke, Josephine Stout, many nieces, and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by Husband: Lloyd Sammons on Aug. 27, 1991, Brothers: Walter and Gerald VanDyke, and Sister-in-law: Martha VanDyke.

Friends may call Monday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, SR 3 at 61, Sunbury. Funeral services will be Tuesday 11:00 a.m. at Colonial City Baptist Church, 7530 Johnstown Rd, Mt. Vernon, Ohio, interment Eastview Cemetery, Centerburg.
